Where to find her?: Tania’s office is located on the fifth floor of the medical school building. Turn right out of the lifts and you’ll find her in the corner.
Tania is your go to person for any help you need inside and outside of medicine. Her background as a Senior Lecturer, Nurse and Educater in equity mean she enters this role with a wealth of knowledge. She can help in listening to you, supporting you and if needed guide you to other services you may need. Tania is an all round support person for any student that needs help!
Puāwaitanga – Individual counselling, easy access, where you are
Get support with feelings of anxiety, low mood, relationships, grief, addictions, low self-esteem, or low confidence.
o A free phone and online support service to help strengthen your hauora (well-being)
o Counselling sessions held over the phone and using a web-based program
o Sessions can be held anytime between 9am–9pm, 7 days a week
o Independent, confidential, free

Sheila brings with her a background in Nursing, including both general and mental health experience, pastoral and counselling work and, more recently, chaplaincy at Christchurch Hospital. She is very keen to help and support students through the journey of life, with all its highs and lows.
